Parent Educational Workshops

Parent workshops serve to teach parents and family members strategies to help their child reach their potential and to improve the quality of life for all. All workshops are offered in a small-group setting allowing us to individualize the information to the group's specific concerns and needs. It also allows ample time for questions and feedback. All workshops are offered for a low one-time registration fee ranging from $5 to $20.

Supporting Challenging Behaviors

Growing Up Issues

A workshop for caregivers of children with special needs. Learn practical strategies to help decrease problematic behavior and promote positive behaviors. All the workshops are small group in order to allow for information to be individualized and customized to the participant's specific questions and concerns. All parents complete a questionnaire prior to the workshop. Information presented is applicable to all ages and ability levels. Contact us for any questions.

This class focuses on teaching how to approach issues such as what is safe and not safe in the adult world, personal boundaries, sexuality, privacy, and related. There are many new issues that arise in the transition to a teenager and adult. Our goal is to help the parent be well informed in order to help their child. Due to the sensitive nature of some of the topics, information is always presented in as an objective, factual manner as possible.

Community Educational Workshops

Part of our mission is educating the community about the unique needs as well as the strengths and capabilities of individuals with special needs. We wish to spread a sense of community acceptance and support for individuals with special needs. We firmly believe that every child has the right to be given the opportunity to learn and grow.

Staff Workshops

We provide educational workshops relating to information about specific behavior, developmental, and learning issues, acceptance and integration within the general population, respectful ways to interact with an individual with special needs, and more.

Please contact us if you are interested in hosting a Community Education workshop. Workshops are offered for a low cost.

School Workshops

Teaching our youth about the uniqueness of individuals with special needs as well as their abilities helps create a sensitive and unified community. In educating our youth, we can change perceptions and promote acceptance.
