ABOUT US
In recognizing the need in the community for low-cost but quality intervention, Behavior Links was created to serve as a resource for families of children with disABILITIES and unique diversities as well as the community. Founder of Behavior Links, Liliana Dietsch-Vazquez, has worked directly with disABILITY community and their families as a pediatric Occupational Therapist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and Educational Psychologist. Through her own experience, she quickly came to realize the need for intensive programs that focused on a specific area of development in order to truly jump-start learning. However, any type of intensive program in the disABILITY world bears a heavy cost for the family.
In learning of the even more scarce number of quality programs in countries other than the United States, Liliana, alongside with her husband, Steven Vazquez, decided to start an organization that would directly help children with special needs and their families. Behavior Links was officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational non-profit organization in 2009. The goal was to provide effective, life-altering intervention within a short period of time. This hope quickly became a reality soon after Behavior Links was incorporated. In just the first year, over 150 families were served with just a $5,000 operating budget.
We are proud that all of our families have reported positive and enriching results from participating in our programs and workshops. We actively involve, integrate, and train the family members at every step. Not one of our therapy programs or educational workshops is ever the same. The curriculum is adapted for every participant, thus ensuring substantial improvement within a short amount of time.
Behavior Links intends for every caregiver to feel empowered and confident that they can have a positive impact on their child’s development. We teach families how to be their best teacher. We have thus far accomplished our goal of offering otherwise expensive therapeutic programs and workshops for a very low cost. Most of our programs have cost families only 5-7% of the actual cost with some as low as just 1% of the cost or even at no cost at all.
